As our “event ambassadors,” Table Captains are a key component to the success of Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures. We deeply appreciate our Table Captains and it is our goal to make the breakfast an uplifting and educational experience for you and your guests!
If you are interested in becoming a Table Captain, please read the information below and contact Tammy Roberts or Wendy Attrell at (541) 686-2688 or events@LookingGlass.us.
What is a Table Captain?
As a Table Captain, you will invite 9 other people to join you at your table to learn more about the work Looking Glass Youth & Family Services is doing in our community. Family, friends, neighbors, and business associates make excellent potential guests. The Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures breakfast is free to both you and your guests. Although everyone will be asked to consider contributing to Looking Glass, there is no minimum and no maximum gift required. It will be our job to inspire your guests to give.
Why should I be a Table Captain?
Not only do you help us raise money to support important programs for at-risk youth and families, your friends will appreciate you for introducing them to Looking Glass. You are giving them the opportunity to join us in ensuring the future health of our community by helping children and teens develop the skills they need to overcome life’s obstacles and become productive adults.
What if I can’t fill a table? What if I have more than one table?
You can choose to co-captain a table with a friend, or we can help you fill a table. If you have more than one table of guests, we can place your additional guests nearby, creating an additional half or whole table.
How do I start?
If you would like to be a Table Captain, please contact Tammy Roberts or Wendy Attrell at (541) 686-2688 or events@LookingGlass.us. We will cover all you need to know about how to be a successful Table Captain. If you know someone else who would make a great Table Captain, download a Table Captain Recruitment Guide (PDF)!
We have also produced an informative Table Captain Toolkit (PDF) that includes a calendar, all of the forms you’ll need, many helpful tips, general information, and sample emails and scripts you can tailor to recruit guests. (You can also download the toolkit, and many additional resource documents, under the “Download Resources” tab in the right hand column from any page on this Web site.)
Our goal for the Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures breakfast is to have 25 Table Captains. We hope you will join us as a Table Captain and a champion for at-risk youth in our community!
